Week 4

I have been wanting to finish the posts about the house, and since it has been a year since we started... a year.  Wow what a difference a year makes...  Anyway, here is the next post!  I would like to say I will post for the next 8 weeks, but ya know - I likely won't be that faithful.  But here are pictures of week four for your enjoyment!

The floor is insulated, in-floor heat is installed and these guys are here to pour concrete.

9/11/12

This happens so fast.

Off to work I go, and when I returned it looked like this.  You can also see all of the steel is on the roof.

And this little blondie got to hang out with Grandpa and his new buddy Justin.

Week 3

9-6-12

We have all of the facia board on now.

We were hoping to have the steel on the roof by now, but it was on back order.  The crew kept busy getting all of the ceiling boards on.

The plumbers were here today!  They buried all of our pipes in the sand.  Isn't this thing cute?!

Now THIS is the best thing about building our house.  My kids get to see grandpa 5 days a week! 

We had a great big sand box for a few weeks.  Lots of fun for these guys!

The steel for the roof has arrived!

Sand is all leveled out again ready for foam insulation.

Charish is happy to see progress :)

August

8-2-12
The day after we closed on our land my dad and his crew were here to put up the shed.  This is where we are storing our stuff until the house is done.

The slab was already here, and so were about 90% of the building materials.  Praise God!

The next day we met our excavator and decided where to put the house...

riiiiiight HERE!

The crew arrived and got to work - by the time we left (just a couple hours later) all of the rafters were on.  They rock!

The next day it looked like this!

And then there was lots of moving dirt...

The steaks outline the corners of the house.

The driveway comes up and around the shed.

Now we have steel on the roof.

The foundation of the house is all dug out.  They will now fill it with sand to the top of these steaks... that is A LOT of sand!

The boys loved these big piles of dirt!

We said good bye to Westby and hello to Salem Ridge.

Last day of August and the roof is ready for steel.

I never did take pictures of the finished shed... guess there were too many other things going on!
